Grand Challenges in Computational Biology
The conference will be hosted by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC) in the heart of downtown Barcelona (C. del Carme, 47. 08001 Barcelona). Talks will take place in the Sala Prat de Riba. (Venue Map)
How to arrive?
The El Prat airport is situated 20 km from the Barcelona city center.
Aerobus: This special service is clearly signposted at the stops outside the terminal and it takes you to "Plaça Catalunya", at 5 minutes walking distance from the venue.
By taxi the journey time is 30 minutes at an approximate cost of 25 €.
Go to “Barcelona Sants” mainline station (metro stop “Sants Estació”) which has connections with the metro system (Line 3, green). Take the metro in the direction to "Zona Universitària" and get off at the station called "Liceo"

No special accomodation options have been agreed by the conference organization, but there is large number of hotels available close to the venue.

Lunch will be available from 13.00. Lunches are included in the registration fee, conference badge is required.
Visit to MareNostrum
For those participants interested, a MareNostrum visit will take place at the Torre Girona building on Tuesday (3rd) at 05:30h. For security reasons, only a group of 30 people will be allowed to visit these facilities at the same time. Please let us know if you are interested in visiting the MareNostrum supercomputing during the registration process, in order to set up the appropriate groups..
No special transport from the venue to MareNostrum has been arranged, but there is a direct Metro link (Line 3 Green from Liceo to Palau Reial). More detailed information will be given to the interested people.
